Artist, Grupa Budapeszt

Igor Krenz (b. 1959) lives and works in Warsaw. He works mainly with film and photography. Most of his projects from the 1990s are a kind of game. Their titles include a claim, which is later proved by the content of the works. They are formally sparse records of experiments, teetering on the border of nonsense and absurdity. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1981-1986). In the mid-1990s, Krenz founded the ZF Kino Film Group, an informal organisation dealing with the presentation, documentation, and technological support of video art. He is the co-founder of the groups Photo Service and Azorro, and has presented his works at exhibitions and screenings at Zachęta National Gallery of Art and Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, Museum of Art in Łódź, Tate Modern in London, Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar) in Brussel, and at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, among others.
